About VunaSoko

VunaSoko connects farmers, buyers, aggregators and businesses that add value to agricultural produce.

Why we built VunaSoko

Growing a good product is only part of the journey. Finding a buyer, understanding the market and getting practical advice matter just as much.

VunaSoko brings these needs together. Farmers can make their produce visible, buyers can discover available supply, aggregators can coordinate sourcing, and businesses can showcase value-added products. People connect through listings and expressions of interest, then agree the details directly.

Our focus is on sweet potatoes, cassava, dairy and tree seedlings. Alongside the marketplace, published market prices and illustrated training articles help people make better-informed decisions.

The support behind our development

VunaSoko's development has been supported through the University of Embu's participation in the Agrifood Systems and Entrepreneurship Consortium (ASEC), coordinated by Egerton University.

This support is part of TAGDev 2.0, a programme implemented by RUFORUM in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. We gratefully acknowledge their contribution to bringing VunaSoko to agricultural communities.

TAGDev 2.0 connects agricultural education, entrepreneurship and communities to expand opportunities for young people and strengthen agrifood systems.
